PVC Laundry Rack – Instructions
So here are some quick instructions on how to make a sturdy PVC laundry rack. Thse instructions are based on the general description at pvc workshop.
NOTE: I did not cement the pieces in place as the pvc had a tight enough fit without it. If you do want to use the cement, you might want to dry fit the pieces first.

Step 1: Get all your materials together. You’ll need
12 1-foot lengths of 3/4″ PVC
3Â Â 3-foot lengths of 3/4″ PVC
2Â Â 2′6.5″Â lengths of 3/4″ PVC
6Â Â 3/4″ slip tees
2Â Â 1″x1″x3/4″ slip tees
2Â Â 3/4″ corners
4Â Â 3/4″ end capspvc cement (optional)
saw to cut down PVC if you buy long lengths

Pvc workshop builds this rack with 1 extra tier. I found that too big for my space and reduced the size to what I show in here. The changes are reflected in my instructions.
Step 2: Build the top (pivoting) bar
Take one 3′ length of pvc. Attach an elbow to one end. Thread both 1″ tees onto the bar. They’ll be loose and will allow your rack to collapse for storage. Since they’ll sit just in from the edges of the top bar, they’ll attach to the set of shorter cross-pieces.
Attach the second elbow to the other end.

Step3: Build cross-pieces by attaching 3/4″ slip tees to either end of each of the long pieces of pvc.

Step 4: Attach a 1′ piece to one side of each slip tee to make 3 sides of rectangle.

Step 5: Attach the ends of the 1′ pieces to the open ends of the elbow brackets on the top piece.
That’ll get your structure started. The rest is pretty straight-forward. Put all the 3′ lengths on one side. The build the cross pieces for the 2′6.5″ lengths on the other side.
Step 6: Build the remaining sections and attach them. It’ll come naturally.
Step 7: Attach the end caps to the feet.
That’s it! Stand it up and cover it with special edition tshirts that can’t go through dryer. Oh wait. That’s just me.
