I see right through you
I have kind of a grudging admiration for Lucite furniture. I like how useful its transparency is for small spaces. I like how one piece can add a dash of the modern to an otherwise conservative room. I LOVE its connection to deco. At the same time though, I find that most semi-attainable (i.e. under $1000) pieces designed in Lucite (or plexi or acrylic) either lack much in the way of flare or are some curly-swirly, French boudoir, Helena Rubinstein type of things. Neither exactly my style.
The love portion of my love-hate relationship with Lucite/plexi keeps me from dismissing it out of hand. I won’t actively shop for it but I’ll peruse it with my best “I don’t need you” face when I see it at the flea market. I knew that just when I decided that the stuff had no place in the modcottage, I’d run across something kick-ass. This appears to be it.Â
It’s called the George II chair and its styling is decidedly mid-century. Old-fashioned ran off and got hitched with new-stylish. I’d like to seat 6 with their little babies.

But how would Dog react? That stuff is freaky-scary to me, so you might want to ask him.
Cats, of course, couldn’t care less.
I am very attracted to lucite, although have none myself. I think that this chair is lovely.
If you like the lucite, you should check out Kartell – they’ve really gone to town with invisible furniture and accessories. (The perfect place to shop for Wonder Woman.) I love how they’ve paired it with the over-the-top formality of Louis XV or Regency or Prince Humperdink, whatever.
as pretty or bitchin as, or pretty bitchin, like Wonder Woman’s plane
