I never doubt that S.O. and I are perfect for each other. It’s completely obvious most of the time that we hit the relationship jackpot. Here’s just one tiny, not direly important, awesome illustration of that. With no hinting, coy suggesting or surreptitiously placed links in the IE history, S.O., for our wood anniversary, got me a modern wooden trophy head. It is so awesome. And it’s completely different from the ones I had found when doing my own gift-hunting. How unlikely is that?

This 3D, ply-constructed Roe deer by Scandinavian designers Vlaemsch has a deconstructed architectural look that makes me think of a model structure. It’s almost like looking at the framework or wire-frame of a sculpture.

I spent all weekend rotating it to see it from different angles, adjusting the interlocking pieces to change the profile, and moving it from room to room looking for the best display location. It kicks much ass and I love it so much that I may need to enlarge the size of the herd.

S.O. feels confident that I will embellish the deer with a red foam clown nose for the holidays. See? We’re a perfect match.
